If you\u2019re just starting out, or considering a career change to the culinary industry, you\u2019re almost certainly going to hear some conflicting advice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGo to culinary school right away!\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cLearn on the job!\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cGo to school, but not until you\u2019ve worked in the industry for at least a year!\u201d <em>(Or two years, or three years\u2026)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re setting the record straight about going to culinary school with no experience, with a little experience, and with LOTS of experience.<\/p>\n<h2>Going to Culinary School With NO Experience\u2014Will You Be Lost?<\/h2>\n<p>You arrive for your first day of culinary school. Your chef\u2019s coat is so crisp it could stand up on its own. Your brand new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.escoffier.edu\/blog\/culinary-arts\/different-knives-and-the-best-uses-for-each\/\">chef\u2019s knives<\/a> have never been wielded. You\u2019re as fresh and green as a scallion.<\/p>\n<p>But what if the chef instructor puts you on the spot, law school-style, and asks you to demonstrate a technique with no warning??
